About Kristi Keller

Kristi Keller was born and raised in Canada in 1972, and had spent the majority of her working years in government corporations. In 2003 she started traveling to Jamaica after she won a trip to the island, and in 2009 she started writing about it.

Contrary to what Kristi would like to believe, she has not conquered Jamaica - rather Jamaica conquered her. It’s turned her into a full-time addict of it’s people, culture, food and adventures. Her allegiance slowly shifted from "Canadian office worker" to "random Jamaica thrill-seeker".

As a result of her blogging she developed a large online following of fellow travel addicts and adventurers, as well as Jamaicans who support what she does.

Kristi has been writing for as long as she can remember and was often put at the front of her class, as far back as first grade, to share her stories. In her adult life, writing took a back seat to her career and single parenting, until travel became her passion and she wanted to share it with everyone.

Wow is all I can say! What a great read. I am a frequent traveler to Jamaica and I have to admit I was stuck in the rut of AI's and resort living. I've ventured out a little but I'm not nearly as engrossed in the culture as Kristi. After reading this book Kristi has me yearning to learn more about the REAL Jamaica and all it has to offer. She has offered an honest real in depth look at a culture that I so love and want to be apart of. I recommend this book to ANYONE that is thinking of visiting or going for an extendication (extended vacation) as I call it. Keep up the good work Kristi.

Amazing!!! I'm a newbie to Jamaica (well the country not the culture) but have experienced home as the foreigner. I can relate to Kristi's experiences on so many levels and the few things I didn't relate to I will happily learn from. After searching for months for anything informative about the real Jamaica I stumbled across Kristi's blog. I was almost ready to give up, convinced I was never going to find the answers I craved and concluded I was crazy. I'm now learning that actually yes I may be crazy but that's ok....thank you! :) Now on to the next read....

Excellent, easy read, and gives extremely good insight about life and living in a tropical foreign country. Kristi's enthusiasm for the island cannot be denied and I confess is sometimes contagious. Thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it to newbies (like myself) or people that can relate. Good on Kristi for sharing her passion.

This book couldn't have come at a better time. I was re-introduced to Jamaica My Way, Kristi A. Keller's blog, as I started to prepare for my move to Jamaica. The release of her book came just a week before my actual departure and couldn't have been more apropos. I sincerely appreciate Kristi's candor and honesty of her love/hate relationship with the island as well as her successes and lessons from her move. After reading her book, I feel even more equipped to handle these next few months and make the most of my time in Jamaica while doing it all my way!

Well done Kristi!
