About Odessa Hywell

Odessa is a dark MM romance author who decided because she is married to a twin it was best NOT to publish her books featuring twincest and other questionable themes under her married name as her husband would not approve.

—His loss, honestly—

If you know who Odessa Hywell is, don’t be a snitch. Like Benjamin Franklin said, “Three may keep a secret, if two of them are dead.”

First off, I know I’m probably going to be the only one star review, but I also have to be honest. I’m almost embarrassed to admit it, but while I knew what the book would be about going in, I assumed the fact it was Odessa Hywell would pull me through all the things I knew I didn’t like (i.e. triads or poly). And unfortunately, it didn’t. I actually didn’t end up finishing the book and it’s doubtful I ever will. It also makes me a little worried about book #3 because I know off the bat that blood play does not interest me especially with the little bit we saw during book #1. I bought book #3 when it was released and still cannot bring myself to read it. I’m bummed since I absolutely loved book #1 and was hoping the series would continue in the same vein instead of veering off into one-upping the book before.

Not terribly dark and I think that's what I liked about it. Each twin had time with Abbadon and their different relationship

I really think that this series is going to put me into an early grave in the best way. So much heat! Wow! The story and characters just get better and better. Abby and the twins were so complex and so relatable. From the very start, you loved all three and wanted that HEA for them. I personally, had the biggest connection and soft spot for Jas. Theo was wonderful too, but something about Jas made me want to give him a big hug. He was lost without his twin and he also felt left out and alone on some occasions when it came to Abby and Theo. But it all worked out in the end. The three of them fit together so well and had their individual connections as well as their strong connection as a throuple in a romantic relationship. I can’t get enough of this series and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

I don't know how Hywell manages to make such sweet killers. I adored Abby and the twins! There was a discussion about spending time together in their pairs which I thought was important.
Very sexy with some sweetness. I'm glad I picked it up

If you love twincest, if you love dark and handsome mafioso, if you love great plot in a book and hot scorching scenes, you'll love this book.

===SPOILERS AHEAD===

===SPOILER ALERT===

I liked the dark tone of the front of the book. The settings and characters were excellent there and fit perfectly with the mafia vibe. Similar to "Always Oskar" this is a very low-angst and super light mafia book. Once you get past 20%(?), I felt like it was all fluff and no dark (except for one scene where Jasper had to prove himself). Once Abaddon started showing his nice-guy image, the mood of the entire book switched.

Loved Abaddon's relationship/friendship with Gabriel. You could tell they were very ride-or-die type of friends, and that part where Gabriel admitted and revealed that Abaddon was family to him was touching.

The reveal and talk about Abaddon's twin actually had me tear up. It was so sad and I felt his loss when he reminisced about Asmodeus with Jasper and Theodore. Ughhhh wish he was still around.

There wasn't as much spice in the book as I would've wanted but it's also a short book so it's a quick story. The library public sex scene was hot and we definitely need more of it. Loved loved loved it!

Overall, I think it was a very cute mafia book, but might have been better if it kept a darker tone (personal preference).
