About Cheryl Barnes

Cheryl Barnes was born in 1960 in Auckland New Zealand and moved with her husband and children to the beautiful Gold Coast, Australia in 1997.

Her hobby has always been reading and she loves travelling to schools to meet children and introduce them to the world of books. Cheryl is always pleased to see the budding authors that appear in most classes and always encourages them to continue writing, and of course reading!

For most of her life Cheryl has wanted to write a novel but has been busy with working and bringing up her three lovely children. Finally, her now grown up daughter Rachel challenged her to take part in the nanowrimo competition that requires authors to write a 50,000 word novel in one calendar month. Cheryl become one of the winners on her first entry and the novel 'A Rose By Any Other Name' was completed.

There have been so many people pleading for her to write a sequel that the story of Rose is now continuing and will hopefully be published in early 2012.
