This was actually an interesting read. In a post apocalyptic world, which is described as being so bleak and lonely. The mutated creatures described were certainly both interesting and terrifying.
The plot itself was certainly plausible and I would love to know more about what truly happened to the "ancients".
I don't want to go into any spoilers, but I would have preferred more details in some areas, and I would have liked Than and his arc to be expanded on a little more, but overall it was a good read and I was entertained despite the ambiguous ending that is no doubt leading to a sequel that I'm not currently aware of.
