Atoosa Hariri was born in Tehran in July1967 to parents of no particular religious belief. She spent the first 9 years of life travelling around Iran due to her father’s Civil engineering contracts. Her exposure to the colourful array of food and life styles was the trigger of her interest in food.
After her parents divorce her mother, a British citizen took her and her brother to London where she grew up. Her interest in nutrition and food began when she was very young, exploring the fruit and vegetable market at Portobello road and cooking for her family. She even began a healthy lunch campaign at school where she started her own tuck shop selling home made sandwiches made entirely by her self.
The idea of a simple and easy to follow book developed much later in her life. Her passion for cooking drives her continuous research and experiments with food.
