Emily is dreaming of Christmases past; of crackling fires and roasting chestnuts. Charles appears and takes her hand, and together they waltz back in time to old Vienna where Strauss himself conducts the orchestra.

This is a short tale of enchantment and nostalgia - with just a touch of magic...

About Catherine Cavendish

Hello, my name's Catherine Cavendish and I write horror fiction - frequently with ghostly, supernatural, Gothic and haunted house themes.

My novella - THE DARKEST VEIL - is published by Crossroad Press. In case you were thinking of messing with an ouija board - don't. Especially if you're not prepared to follow the rules. As with a number of my other Crossroad Press titles, THE DARKEST VEIL is available on Smashwords.

My novellas COLD REVENGE, MISS ABIGAIL'S ROOM, THE DEMONS OF CAMBIAN STREET, DARK AVENGING ANGEL, LINDEN MANOR, THE DEVIL INSIDE HER and THE SECOND WIFE have now been released in new editions by Crossroad Press, along with my novels THE DEVIL'S SERENADE and SAVING GRACE DEVINE and my story of the Lancashire Witches - THE PENDLE CURSE.

My latest novel - THE GARDEN OF BEWITCHMENT - is out now from Flame Tree Press. Historical haunted Gothic horror set in the wilds of the Yorkshire moors - pure Bronte country - with a Bronte theme. Also from Flame Tree Press - THE HAUNTING OF HENDERSON CLOSE. Ghostly horror set in Edinburgh's Old Town.

Available now from Kensington-Lyrical - the NEMESIS OF THE GODS trilogy: WRATH OF THE ANCIENTS, WAKING THE ANCIENTS and DAMNED BY THE ANCIENTS - set in Egypt and Vienna and featuring the sinister Dr. Emeryk Quintillus whose obsession has stayed with him long past the grave.

I live with a long-suffering husband and a delightful black cat who has never forgotten that her species used to be worshipped in ancient Egypt. She sees no reason why that practice should not continue. Who am I to argue?

When not slaving over a hot computer, I enjoy wandering around Neolithic stone circles and visiting old haunted houses.

This was a beautiful imaginative, sensual dance that will go on till the end of time. This author wrote this short story in a very interesting way ... the storyline will certainly "Dance Me To The End of Time" for some time.

Lovely story! It is difficult to draw a reader in, in such a short piece, but this author does just that. Makes me want to read more by Catherine Cavendish, and that is a good thing for any author to hear! Well done. Now I think I'll go put some Strauss on my iPod!

It takes you on a dance with this couple that feels as though you are experiencing the dance yourself. A wonderful imaginative story!

This was a great short story! It's just long enough to make you wonder how it's going to end, but not so short that you don't get a sense of the story line.
