I absolutely love the story and message in The Dr. Princess and Purple Toes Rose book. A princess with a Medical Degree from Duke University???? Brilliant!!! It is undeniable that most little girls today are captivated by fairytales, princesses and purple toenail polish. The author is savvy enough to utilize these ideas to capture her audience but then she takes it several steps farther. It delivers the message that our little girls can be beautiful princesses by day and life saving surgeons by night. What a great way to open up a dialogue with our kids that the sky is the limit for them. The book also touches on the benefits of working together as a team. Once the Dr. Princess elicits help from her sister Rose and her trusted assistant Friar Chop, they are able to triple the number of sick patients they can help. Our kids are always going to be in situations where they have to ban together with others who are different than them. The Dr. Princess and Purple Toes Rose book is a wonderful addition to my reading collection and I will be sure to share it with all the special girls in my life!
