Joyce A. Hood was born on Canada/U.S. border and feels equally at home in Toronto’s river ravines and Southern California’s Solstice Canyon. As an English teacher she spent many years immersed in the glories of the English language, which continues to console her daily. Besides the obligatory failed novel and a body of poetry, she has written over 137 journals, a daily record of her thoughts over half a long lifetime. This experience has convinced her that narrative is the key to mental, physical and spiritual health and ultimately to the empathic evolution of humanity.
