The Boy Upstairs

Rated 3.00/5 based on 2 reviews
Robert has writer's block. The din from upstairs is not helping matters. Three times he's pleaded with the boy upstairs to keep the volume down. Today, the fourth time, he gets results. And they are a lot more than he could ever have expected.

An outrageous little comedy with a happy ending. More

About Jon Rutherford

Jon has lived in the Midwest US, not in the fictional city that most of his stories take place in, but not far from there, for all his life, apart from quick sorties to Canada and Mexico and a somewhat longer one to France (Paris, Brittany, Normandy, Loire Valley). He has a degree in French from a university in the Midwest.

Interests, apart from writing, have included classical guitar, cycling (before something effectively destroyed his sense of balance), most of the arts, especially photography; and gay rights and human rights in general.

Likes the novella form -- which the popularity of e-reading is reportedly re-invigorating.

Sometimes in the world you just get tired of being alone--you wake up alone, you go to work alone, you go to the grocery alone, you go home alone, your eat alone, you go to bed alone. Start again the next day. It's sometimes hard to meet someone decent. And if it takes making your hot neighbor mad time and again just so he'll actually knock on your door for a conversation--and you happen to wear fewer and fewer clothes each time--so be it. As far as the ending: I take it as face value, a truly HEA. I really liked this one! Then again, I'm a little odd myself!
