I will admit I had to finish reading it, could hardly put it down, but did not like the fact that the story did not get a wrap up. I now see there is a second book, but cannot bring myself to read it. This is not a typical Regency - it is too dark for my taste. I don't particularly care for books that have main characters that stretch to more than one book. I did not like that Nicholas' problem was not resolved (Lord Rudd) and the danger threatening Catherine from Lord Dartmouth and Lily. I'm pleased to see the other reviewers loved it. It is just not my taste.

Beautifully written, interesting plot. Couldn't stop reading. Enjoyed the main characters tremendously.
My favorite is beyond a doubt Nicholas, than Catherine. For a scoundrel he had the heart and the compassion to protect her no matter the cost. I admired him for his steadfastness to conquer her heart.
I can not wait to read the follow up.
The mix of Elise, Teagin and Caspice will defnitly make a good story.
Really hope the Lilly character gets what she deserves.
And that Gabriel find love at the end, he was also an victim but really it is time to move on and not allow petty feelings to hinder him to find the love he wants.

OMG! What a fantastic story, nothing turns out the way you think it might turn out. I hope she continues with some of the characters she intrduced in this story.

You are one of my new favorite authors. I Love the story line and the characters are great. I really get drawn into the character relationships and find myself telling the characters "no no no don't do it" and then end up being surprised by the turn of events created. I hope to see more on the characters that were introduced on the sidelines and their story. I look forward to more from this author.
