Cowboy Chicken puts on a surprise rodeo.

"Chicken worked all week long,
carrying pails of nails, and wooden rails,
and lanterns through the night.
In and out of shadows he crept, with ladders
dragging and buckets banging,
but he did not cry for help.
There were secrets in his eyes
but not a word for anyone…" More

About Ian Hutton

Dear Readers,
When I was 12, I started Martial Arts. Mr. Sam Nishi, a WWII Veteran, was my instructor.
He was powerful and wise. He almost broke my arm but stopped at the exact point of
cracking! He wanted me to know pain so I wouldn't fear it.
He taught me balance, nutrition and respect for women: “they are smarter and stronger than you.”
He was “also a boy because I never gave up my imagination."

To this day, I still have balloons roaming the rooms of my home, most of my friends are women
and my imagination powers my writings. My characters are curious, joyful, friendly and forever
taking chances.
Some of them are quite poetic: Toad hops around the land, in full Toad grace, saying things like
“I have to be my own judge because nobody else understand me!”
I received this note recently:
“Mr. Hutton, today, I read 2 of your stories 'Captain Dricksmus Drake'
and 'Socks'. I think your mind is a work of art! Thank you for injecting a bit of joy into my day."
C. Fairbanks.

Thank you all for reading my stories.
Ian

Review by: Mike Campbell on March 6, 2012 :
This book is very clever at drawing the reader into the story of a fun filled day, and a fabulous dramatic show, that Chicken has arranged. It is a magic show with flair, and involves Bear participating(although Bear has little idea of whats expected of him). The show continues with fanfare, and Chicken performs tricks which delight the audience. Bear is left to have lunch with his friends and ponder the days magical happenings.
