About Jo Ana Starr, PhD

My name is Jo Ana Starr. I have been the Director of the New England Institute of Hypnotherapy since 1999; I am a veteran social researcher; a popular Speaker on the topics of Hypnotherapy, Self Hypnosis and the Mind-Body connection; and the author of 14 books and e-books that are designed to help readers improve their lives and achieve their personal goals.

Even though I don't know you and may never meet you face-to-face, I believe in the almost infinite power of your mind. You are likely a believer in and a seeker of happiness and fulfillment. In my earlier years of researching mind-body techniques, I tried almost every method to gain happiness, focus, and peace. I finally found Hypnosis and was amazed at how easy Self Hypnosis made the process. It's simple; it's pleasant, and it works. In my books, I share with you how to train your brain to accomplish your goals, and provide the tools and information you need to do just that. Helping you to access your inner genius is my goal in writing these books, and one that I take very seriously.

Now, a bit of background information about me. I have worked in the field of Clinical Hypnotherapy since 1987, training with the esteemed Dr. A. Krasner of the American Institute of Hypnotherapy and working with clients and groups thereafter. In 1999, I founded the New England Institute of Hypnotherapy as a professional Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy Certification training program that has successfully trained over 5200 Clinical Hypnotherapists internationally.

My academic background is in Clinical Hypnotherapy, Communication, Psychology, and Education. Because of my educational background and professional experience, Based on my years of experience with clients and students, I feel qualified to help you to train your brain to move you toward your goals. I genuinely delight in writing books that can help readers to create a more fulfilling life. I am happy and grateful to be able to share what I have learned with you.

If you are new to Self Hypnosis and you aren't sure which book to read first, I suggest that you start with Quantum Self Hypnosis or one of the shorter Quantum Self Hypnosis specific application books. Depending on whether you are interested in mastering one application or are wanting a great overview with lots of hypnosis scripts, one of these choices will be perfect for you. Quantum Hypnosis Scripts, and Eyes Open Self Hypnosis are also great books, and offer valuable information and resources for those who are interested in improving their lives through the use of Self Hypnosis.

This is the second book of Dr. Starr’s that I’ve read and even though this is only a 40+ page book, it really met my needs. While I would not call myself obese or overweight, I do wish to have a slimmer figure, and the traditional methods of diet and exercise were simply not working for me. Being a psychologist and understanding that hypnosis could help, I figured there had to be a better solution.

You really get your money’s worth with this book. You receive a good, full-length professional-grade hypnosis script, two master hypnosis inductions and complete instructions to conduct the session and also to record it.

The best part is that the book manages to do a great job of explaining the process of using self-hypnosis to lose weight. I’m so excited to share this book with my friends.

I just finished reading this self help book and I have to say I am truely amazed, and I couldn't walk away from it until I was done. I have always been VERY skeptical of this type of thing but decided to go ahead and look into it and possibly try it out, wow was I suprised in a great way. The scripts within the book are extremely clear and Dr. Starr explains all you need to know in clear, easy to understand language. There are simple questions in the book to ask yourself that really will get you thinking about the root cause of why you have gained weight. They made me realize that this is a behavior I started as a child and just didn't do anything to stop as an adult. Very suprising realization I came to about myself and a very helpful one at that. I was pleasantly suprised to find that even in just READING the scripts, I could clearly see everything described in my mind and found myself ultra relaxed and focused on just the words. It was really amazing and I can't wait to record these tonight and start them. I can only imagine what will become if just reading it worked the way it did. Thank you Dr. Starr for a truely enlightening and helpful book, keep the great work coming!!

Detailed instructions on hypnosis for weight loss

The author has written and published another book covering the topic of self-hypnosis in more depth and explaining how to apply it in a wide variety of contexts (that book is called Quantum Self Hypnosis). But if you are like me, sometimes you just want a plain and simple introduction to the subject limited to its direct application to the particular pressing problem that you have.

As a diabetic who suffered a stroke a few years ago, few things are more important than controlling my weight, so I was pleased to see that Dr. Starr offers this ebook specifically targeting the use of hypnosis for weight loss. For me, as for many others, failure to deal with my weight problem could have tragic, if not fatal consequences, and I want too badly to see my two kids finish school and go out into the world to ignore the issue.

If this is the major problem you need to work on, this ebook may well contain everything you need to get started and begin to make some progress. There is a description of how to induce the hypnotic state, a full length professional grade hypnosis session script which you can record to play back to yourself while under hypnosis, and complete directions for using the technique to maximum advantage.

Given the quality of this tightly focused ebook, the very modest price is a great bargain.

Losing weight is one of my biggest dreams. I have been trying to lose weight ever since I was in College. I have tried many things and have done researches just to lose weight. Until a time came that I almost accepted my fate to grow old this big. Good thing that I encountered the book Weight Loss Self Hypnosis. Truth be told, the book of Dr. Starr gave me hope. Because I have read many books on weight loss before, I can say that it is absolutely different from the rest. The book was written as if the person reading it is in an exciting journey to weight loss. This easy to understand book uses good clean script language and good quality-well designed scripts making the journey to weight loss hassle free. Aside from that, the book was well formatted encouraging the reader to read more and not get bored as it progressed. After reading the book, I have come up with some new realizations. Now, I have again that strong will to lose my weight. It is all thanks to Weight Loss Self Hypnosis.

Outstanding results! really works

This amazing book has changed my life! I have to admit I have always struggled with my weight, and after years of trying different diet plans, diet medication, and even tried to exercise, but every attempt my willpower failed me and i simply could not drop the weight.

I was given this book by a close friend of mine, and let me tell you at first I was very skeptical about using hypnosis to help with my weight problem, but I couldn't be more wrong in my assumption. This book is very easy to read and understand, and the step by step hypnosis techniques were amazing easy to learn, use and master, even for someone who has no past experience with self-hypnosis as myself.

I am very much looking forward to starting my own self-hypnosis program, and after reading this book I am very grateful and really appreciate guidance it offers
