Hammered was a good read. It brought back accurate depiction of the times of my youth. I was not a drug user but witnessed a lot of what was written about, but the perspective from an insider I found intriguing.

To say that Hammered: Memoir of an Addict, is a compelling book is a gross understatment. It's a novel that many readers will find uncomfortable with its warts-and-all portrayal of addiction and the consequent lifestyle. So it should. It doesn't paint the author as an angel, nor does it demonize him. It just simply paints - a gritty and realistic portrait of desperation and of one man's struggle to get through each day. This book is to Australia, what Trainspotting is to Scotland. My sincere congratulations to the author for having the courage to pen such a wonderful work. I have a feeling that if Joe's dad is looking down from wherever he is, he's glad that Joe made it through the journey and lived to tell other people that it's possible to escape the abyss.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading this - such an honest well written book. Not only did the author share his struggle with drug addiction, but also the demons within, that led him on what could have been a destructive path. Congratulations Mr Braun, for a book well written, and for making it out the other side.

I really enjoyed this book. One of the first things I look for in an e book is that they are structurally sound. Grammar and punctuation used correctly allow the reader to concentrate on the content, and this book is perfect in that way. The story concentrates on the author's recovery from drug addiction, and is a brutal, honest and emotional tale. It offered an amazing insight into the life of an addict, and I wanted to applaud the author for sharing this roller coaster journey with us. Well done, Mr Braun. A fantastically well written book.
