While I also wish their first time had been on page (couldn't believe it when the chapter cut off just before it happened and then the next one flashforwarded to the next day), I have to say I actually enjoyed this quite a bit. I think from all the incest pairings, the father/son novellas have been my favorite so far from the author. They have a special sort of sweetness between the couple that makes them that much more memorable, besides the extra tabooness of it all. And here, that mixed in with some of my favorite aspects of other installments like Bully Brother (the dubcon, domestic discipline/bdsm, etc etc) made it quite memorable.
As for other aspects, I think the development in their relationship was also well done for the page count, but I do have to say some more of Kirk grovelling would have made this cross over into five star territory, even with the "sin" of not showing their first full sexual encounter on page. Then again, I feel like that's a sad downside from the stories being so short, and given that this isn't even 90 pages, I'm quite stunned the author managed to craft the narrative they did. And even get me to tear up quite a few times while at it, managing to hit some emotional highs and lows I wouldn't have otherwise expected.
As another note, I'm also glad the author actually utilized the cameos well for once in this story (they can feel extremely gratuitous and invasive otherwise), and had the side characters give Kirk, the dad, the verbal lashing he deserved for being such a lousy, bitter man throughout most of Jagger's life. While I did mention definitely wanting more of his grovelling, I still thought it was nice to see how he realized and acknowledged the extent of his guilt when all was said and done, and that the overall story ended with him so committed to giving Jagger the life he deserved.
Hoping this isn't the last we see of the series! Whether I've liked some of the installments in it more or less, I still believe 100% that T.M Chris is the best author writing this sort of taboo content at present. So I'm excited to read whatever she releases next.
