About Rex Olsen

Rex Olsen grew up on a remote Colorado cattle and horse ranch, without telephone, electricity, or in-door plumbing - until the last years of high school. He was the first of four children and needed to leave the ranch, attend college, and enter the world of large business. While he became an executive in major corporations, owned his own company, and became a business consultant he never lost his love of the natural world. Rex lives on Bainbridge Island in Washington State with his wife, Elizabeth, and two American Budgies, Miles D. and Ella F. When he isn't writing Rex enjoys playing jazz saxophone and cooking vegetarian.
