I’ve often been asked, well, twice, where I get my inspiration from or where I get my ideas. Honestly… from life and a very over-active imagination I’ve been blessed with since childhood. I see an old boarded up house and I imagine it’s haunted. Or I meet the handsome new neighbor in town and I turn him into a burglar. I have a cousin I’m not particularly fond of and I knock her off. Writing has its privilege!
It helps, too, I think, my having been too sick as a child to play with other children. Most of my childhood was spent in and out of hospitals forcing me to find creative outlets for passing the long hours. Daydreaming was one way and coloring books were another, and daring to color outside the lines with other than the eight basic colors tilted my narrow world in just the right direction of fantasy.

In simple truth, I love books and I have a long-standing admiration for writers who possess the innate ability to make me laugh or cry, who can scare me or amuse me or, best of all, surprise me. I have never desired to be anything other than one of them – I dare to think one day I will aspire to be counted among them.
