Found out I had already read this as part of a free sample from Josh's website. Liked the mystery he solved and the relationship he ends up with.

Cards on the Table is a really good mystery with a very romantic story on the side.
Tim's research for his new book brings to light the dubious circumstances of a starlet's death and with it the people who'd rather keep things hushed. As the danger escalates, there is only one person Tim can rely on (reluctantly) - his ex-lover Jack, who's very willing to be there for him.
This story is one of my favorites. I highly recommend it!
