About Piero Manno

Piero Manno began his career in the food industry as a delivery boy and apprentice butcher during his early teens in Milan, in his native Italy. He studied under master American pizza chef Jerry Mazzella at Ciro’s restaurant. During his two years at Fresno State University he worked part time for Di Ciccos restaurant. He then worked as assistant chef at restaurants in Milano, Lake Garda, Grado, and the French Riviera. From 1987 to 1991, he served as chef for the Florentine Corporation in California’s Silicon Valley. In 1991, Piero founded Bella Pasta in Fresno, California, which he and his mother ran, accumulating local and national accolades, until he sold the business in 2001.
Mr. Manno holds a BA in American literature from California State University, Fresno. He resides in Fresno.
