Wisdom Twins Books is a publisher of exciting, alternative titles and is run by Chris Wade. Born in Leeds in 1985 (reportedly in a brown paper bag or more likely at St James' Hospital), Chris Wade is a writer of fiction, non fiction and poetry, as well as an ocassional illustrator and interviewer. He classes himself as a surrealist, or more specifically, an anarcho surrealist, bringing a wild abandonment combined with a deep emotional edge to his fiction work. Yes that was pretentious but who cares??!! As the head of Wisdom Twins Books, he sits at the head of the banquest table discussing darts and everyone's fate. The other staff member, the tramp with the glass eye who sleeps in the bin outside, never attends the board meetings, despite numerous requests from Wade. Wade' first published work was providing illustrations for a 2004 book called Ghost Stories from North Lincolnshire (John Merrill Books) while Wade was working in a toy shop, where he slept in a bed of playballs when hung over and rode scooters around the shopping centre. At the end of 2009, he formed his own publishing company, Wisdom Twins Books, in a bid to get full control over editing, writing and all sides of the creative process. The first title released was Hugh Cornwell: The Hoover Dam Companion, all about the former Stranglers frontman's latest studio album. It was released on the Wisdom Twins Books site and also on the punk rock legend's UK tour of November 2009. Soon after he began to edit and write for the free monthly magazine Hound Dawg, available as a free download from Wisdom Twins Books on the Hound Dawg Magazine website (http://hounddawgmagazine.weebly.com/). Past interviewees include Rik Mayall, Arthur Smith, Victoria Coren, Hugh Cornwell, members of The Kinks, The Velvet Underground and Squeeze, and many other popular figures.
At the start of 2010, Wade recorded an audio version of Cutey and the Sofaguard with UK comedy icon RIK MAYALL, who narrated the project. It was the first audio book project for Wade, an area he now counts as his favourite part of his output. Wade also records audiobooks with Shawn Dimery and has released albums of the recordings he did with Jake Hart between 2007 and 2010. He also releases paperback versions of his fiction, the first being Cutey and the Sofaguard backed with its equally mad sequel Home in a Tick for the beginning of 2011. Wade continues to release his work regularly through this site.
