Susan is an inspirational writer and I'm sure that she is even more inspirational when seen speaking. Her book, Golden Apples in Silver Settings, is a collection of the talks she's given over her years in speaking to churches around the globe.
Each chapter contains a talk she's given, along with details of the place she spoke. An interesting, and extremely useful, book, it can be read alone, in Bible groups or even by an entire church. If you're looking to be lifted up, or have your life filled with the wonders of the world, then this book comes highly recommended. Each chapter is short enough to be read within 10 or 15 minutes and has enough material to get you thinking and feeling. Susan's writing style is beautiful and easy to read. You feel as though she is sitting with you, talking to you over a cup of tea. Through it you will find yourself inspired, motivated and filled with the love of God.
If you're a church or Bible group looking for something new to digest and study then I definitely recommend Golden Apples in Silver Settings.

'Golden Apples in Silver Settings' is a great motivational book that draws on a wealth of experience by the author Susan Harris. As I read the book, I was encouraged to pursue my own dreams. The underlying theme of 'it's never too late' really spoke to me, and I think it will speak to your heart as well. My faith was strengthened as I devoured the chapters. This book provides enjoyable reading while at the same time getting the reader to think and act upon realizing goals through the practical guidelines the author shares. It is humorous and has proven to be quite an adventure across different geographical locations. Fasten your seat belt and come onboard on a literary trip that by the power of God can alter the course of your life forever!

I found Golden Apples in Silver Settings to be an easy read. Susan's messages are encouraging and inspiring, and biblically sound. Each chapter stand on its own and tells a story, and you are not committed to read in chronological order. Therefore, you can pick up the book anytime and not be concerned that you forgot the beginning. You can still find continuity in themes, for example, answered prayer in the chapters entitled Fresh Resolve and Answer by Fire, or Seasons in Chapters 3 and 9. I really liked the anecdotes about the cities and towns called "Points of Interest." While you do not need to wait on the last page to know what is at the end, if you would like to know over 200 women in the bible, then you would want to go to the last chapter.
