Getting Out - Excerpts from a Cat's Diary

Getting Out - Excerpts from a Cat's Diary is the first book in a trilogy of at least four books (according to the author). Translated from the original Cat by John Woodcock. It is a comedic 'diary' where 'Bridget Jones' meets 'The Great Escape' head on, usually. About John Woodcock

I believe that the best thing in the world that you can do for and to any reader is to entertain and if you can't make someone laugh then a smile will do.

I've been writing for around 30 years a combination of animated scripts and before that copy for all sorts of print media but now I am in the middle of - one could say surrounded by - my biggest challenge - The Cat and his books, be warned there will be a lot of them.

As well as writing comedy I am working on a thriller at the moment but if I told you any more than that when it is published it wouldn't be any thrilling.

So that is the bit about what I write, here is the up close and personal stuff - well the bits that I think I can share. I'm married to the incredibly talented lady who took the amazing and much admired photograph on the cover of "Getting Out - Excerpts from a Cat's Diary," and for the very inquisitive she's called Lena. I'm English, though I live in Prague in the Czech Republic.

Is that personal enough? No? Ok, well what can I say my inside leg measurement once won a prize for being a perfect number and I like to walk in the relatively pollution free hills around Prague, I don't walk to get inspiration, just a better figure.

If you want to read more about me or my amazingly gifted and talented Cat do visit the website at or indeed of course his blog there you can read even more of 'Getting Out - Excerpts from a Cat's Diary' and 'The Cat's Travelogue' for free, together with loads of reviews, play games and well do so much more.
