About Jacquie Scuitto

Born and grew up in Maine, attended college and lived in upstate New York, then in Italy and Germany for 25 years. Returned to the States and spent 16 years on Long Island before moving to Vermont in 2003. Started quilting in 1991 and after joining several on-line quilting groups began writing light verse inspired by what was being discussed there.
With award winning quilter Ann Fahl 'A Black and White Tale' with her quilts and my verses was published last year.
I now live with two cats in a small Vermont city and make quilts for Project Linus and communicate with many friends through the Internet. I also make regular trips to Germany where my two daughters and 6 grandchildren still live.

If you've been fortunate to be on any online groups with Jacquie, you'll have enjoyed her periodic commentaries (via verse) on various and sundry things dealing with our quilting life. It's fun and wonderful.

One poem I especially like gives The Recipe for a quilt. Well, when you mix well with the one quilter who just happens to be Jacquie, and add in the spice of her gentle sense of humor and winning way with words, you're in for a lovely treat. A great gift for yourself or the favorite quilter on your gift list! Yes, I'm biased---I'm so happy that Jacquie is my friend, and a fun writer and I hope you'll enjoy her whimsy and wisdom as much as I do.

If you're a quilter, or know a quilter, Jacquie Scuitto has written a book of verses that is a must-have. She must have had a grin on her face when she wrote these. They are delightful.

I've loved Jacquie's poetry on the Quilt Art list for years. So great to have it in a book now.

I love those rhythms and stories around patchwork and quilting!!! There are so many aspects to find, even ones I had not noticed myself. This makes a wonderful present for quilters!
I hope there will be more volumes soon;)
