About A.P. Maddox

Born in Mesa and raised in Gilbert, Arizona, A.P. Maddox was the youngest child in a family of six. Her parents were nearly old enough to be her grandparents; and while many may have considered them quite old fashioned, that is exactly what she loved about them. Growing up on stories and music of a bygone time gave her an appreciation—if not an actual longing—for yesteryear. It is this nostalgia for the past combined with a contemporary voice that she wishes to bring to young, new audiences.
She first began writing when she opened a daycare and preschool in her home when her oldest child was preschool age; her first stories were short children’s stories. Later, she wrote a few short young adult stories until finally, she wrote Northland Cottage, her first, full-length novel.
A.P. Maddox now lives in Gilbert with her husband and four children, who insist that she’s perpetually twenty-two, much to their mother’s delight. She enjoys time spent with family. She has a passion for ancestral histories and believes that we can honor the memories of those that have gone on before us by keeping their principles and traditions alive.
