I've been to Canada a number of times--all over the Maritimes and through various parts of Québec. But I've never been west of there. Apparently, I've missed something. An interesting (dare I say, peculiar) something. Victoria seems to be a hotbed of strange phenomena and well guarded secrets. Lee Shilo presents the dilemma: "What are Victoria's biggest, best guarded secrets? Don't ask me, I won't tell."
That would pique your interest. He says at twelve years of age he began exploring tunnels--the physical evidence of myths and rumors. At twelve, I would have been right there with him.
I would describe Mr. Shilo's offerings as "considerations." There are no solutions offered here--just things to ponder. Interested in conspiracies, cover-ups, puzzles and irksome peccadilloes? Want to follow where you imagination leads you? Lee Shilo provides a shopping list of tales and tidbits to ponder and pursue if you would. Are rumors indicators? Like shadows cast by dissipating smoke clouds, indicating there is (or was once) a fire. True or false, unfounded rumors or shards of broken secrets, these things are fun to think about.
