About David Hegarty

David Hegarty, a Wexfordman, has been writing since his mid-teens.
In the 1960s, he spent seven years working around the UK and Europe before returning to Dublin, Ireland, where, for over 30 years, he ran a busy fitness centre with his French wife, Francoise.
After starting about fifteen novels and getting anything from 2,000 to 15,000 words done before losing the plot, tiring of the project, or just running into a wall, he managed to write Three Day Break, a thriller set on the South East coast of Ireland.
The novel was published in hardback by Alison and Busby. Good reviews prompted the publisher to take an option on David's next two books.
Three Day Break was followed by Shortstorm, another thriller set in the same location. This was followed by Seawatch, a young adult adventure story, centred on boats, sailing, and life in a traditional fishing village.
While he was writing his books, David was also teaching, and giving seminars and workshops, on the health and wellness methods he has been developing from his early twenties. This work was reinforced with the publication of Dynamic Health, his classic fitness book which is now heading for its third print run.
David and Francoise are living live in Co Meath in Ireland where he is still active in the wellness industry, and is writing prolifically again in two genres ... Health and Crime ... and wholeheartedly supporting a developing Wexford hurling team.
