About Brenda Cothern

Brenda is unlike most authors since she only began writing 2010. She never wrote fan-fic but has been an avid D&D player for over 35 years. Painting pictures and telling stories for gamers to see in their imaginations came naturally and now she does the same in her novels.

She is an Amazon and ARe best-selling author and her love for reading fantasy, paranormal, and contemporary erotic romance has allowed her to apply her Bachelor’s degrees in management and marketing to her new career.
Her first best-seller in 2012, Coming Home, was her first attempt at a short story and admittedly ‘shorts’ are not her forte. However, since then, almost every book she has published has made the best-sellers list on Amazon and/or Are (All Romance eBooks.) Brenda’s Shadows universe has been compared to True Blood or Anita Blake by fans and her Mad Dogs series have received rave reviews for its uniqueness. Brenda’s BDSM books in her Undercover Love series, Not for Sale & Highest Bidder, have been banned from Amazon with no explanation. They are also what Brenda considers her best work.

Brenda travels the country appearing at leather events and conventions. She frequently is asked to speak on panels about writing and BDSM/kink related topics When Brenda is not writing; she lives and breathes in the Tampa Bay gay leather community. She is a member of the Tampa Leather Club and the only associate member to receive an award (2011) for her dedication toward making the club events all they can be. In 2014, Brenda also received the award for Ms. Community Service 2015 from the Florida Puppy Contest organizers. In 2015, Brenda was again honored for her service to the community when she was pinned ‘Mama’s Tampa Wench’ by Sandy ‘Mama’ Reinhardt who has been an activist for over twenty years. Less than 2000 leather community members worldwide have received this honor. Brenda is also member of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. In Nov., she became (the first) Ms. Florida Leather n' Fetish Pride 2016.

She was the coordinator for Alt*Life Bike Fest in 2013 and currently hosts a monthly leather social at her home bar, The Body Shop. In the past, she has been on the organizing boards for Florida Leather n’ Fetish Pride and RainbowCon.

Brenda resides in Tampa with her husband of almost 20 years, 7 cats, and a turtle named Tammy. She is the mother of three beautiful daughters and a grandmother of two gorgeous granddaughters.

Brenda loves to hear from her fans so don’t hesitate to contact her online!

Was a well written short story, never loosing its quick erotic feel during the read. The characters Chad and Chase felt real, and their relationship building genuine too.

I normally don't complain about an author's selection of character names but the "Chad" and "Chase" combo really made the read rather hard and distracting. I found myself having to re-read a sentence or paragraph to rediscover who was "talking". Trivial I know, but worth mentioning in my book.

Excellent short story. Would love to see a long version of it. The character development was great and the story gave me wood. Look forward to reading more from Brenda Cothern!

Quite a likeable story, although I also found it confusing having similar character names. Good for a freebie!!

We're introduced to Chase as a soldier then as a cowboy, which to me was inconsistent. That and the characters having similar names and all the 'head hopping' had me re-reading the introduction trying to keep things straight, but once the 'bow-chika-bow-bow' starts, and it's about 50% 'bow-chicka-bow-bow', it just doesn't matter anymore. I'd give it 3/5 stars, not gonna diss it, probably not going to fervently recommend it, but if you're looking for some 'bow-chicka-bow-bow', hey, it's free!
