About the Series: 1000 Words: A Collection of Short Stories
"1000 Words" is a collection of ten short stories, each approximately one thousand words in length. They range from science fiction and fantasy, to adventure and horror. Each short story is accompanied by its own book cover. Each of the stories are available for free elsewhere, but here they have been collected into one volume. This was a capstone project meant to merge photographic illustration with creative writing.

"Ashes" is the prequel to "Socks."

I definitely hope that this story is expanded, considering it has so much potential. It's easy to picture what is happening while reading, and for a very quick read, I feel like it was in-depth enough to create a new, complete world.

Good story! I would love to see more of this world (hint) if you're ever inclined to try your hand at a novella. The premise is interesting. Nicely done!
