I really like the fantastical elements in The Darkling Thrush - the book perusing, the mysteriously swirling atmosphere, the legends, the journey. It would make such a good movie. Colin is a good guy, if a bit naive, but it's Septimus that has me intrigued. And the (briefly appearing) fae folk. I do hope there will be a sequel to this story! In the meantime, i also recommend the audiobook, it kept me spellbound :-)
