Dark Angel

Rated 5.00/5 based on 3 reviews
Cam's guardian angel is not the kind of angel that usually guards people. Thelma has no idea what possesses her on the day when she comes across Cam stacking shelves in the supermarket, not a clue as to who she is inviting to join her exclusive geisha style brothel in the hills. "You can do much better than this," she tells the bemused Cam, placing her card on a tin of baked beans. "Call me." More

About Alenka Co

Alenka Co is an uncommon name for an uncommon lady. She moves through life with a quiet grace and beauty that is a reflection of her deep love of dance, a natural carefree spirit moved by music and emotions, an uninhibited natural grace that, I believe, is seen in the many thousands of photos I have taken of her during our life together.

To the outside world she is often seen as a quiet private person but I have been privileged to see the wild, passionate side also. This is a woman who lives and feels life on a very deep level, moved by the simplest things and outspoken when confronted by injustice or cruelty.

Her love of literature is reflected both in her insatiable appetite for books and in her unrelenting critical assessment of her own work. Writing does not come easily in the sense that near enough is never good enough for her own work - it must be right , it must feel and move with the grace and beauty of life as she knows and values it, flow from point to point, idea to idea as naturally as water flows. All her words are chosen, examined and placed carefully, replaced if they jar, revised and rewritten time and again until it is "right".

Her love of life, words and movement is reflected in her writing. Her wish in offering her novels is not wealth or fame but to share the stories she has written.

It is an impossible task to describe a person as complex as Alenka in these few words. I will finish by saying she admires modesty and abhors the modern idea of self promotion, of getting out there and selling her work and herself, which is why I have to write this for her.

"my works should survive on their own merits, not on my ability to sell them and myself"

In the end, you the reader decide its worth.

The story and characters are a reflection of the profound reflective nature of the author. Cam was important to me during a hard time in my life. Sometimes stories can be a guiding light. This was one for me.

I'm looking forward to reading this final version of Dark Angel! I've had the honor of calling Alenka my friend for several years through RedBubble. I can honestly say every book she's written has drawn me in and entranced me. I highly recommend all of her books! Even though I've read just about every word she's written, I'm buying her electronic versions just so I can print them and read them again and again! Bravo my brave friend! Bravo!
