The Sticks

Rated 5.00/5 based on 3 reviews
Percy wants to be as far away as possible from the place that has been the source of his troubles all his life. But to his disappointment, he finds himself in the last place he expected. And a chance encounter with a redneck and a stubborn hound dog aren’t helping, either. That is… until they do.

This short story imagines that, perhaps, very big things can happen in very small moments. More

I concur with Jay Broderick; THE STICKS is indeed a beautiful, lyrical story. Clever reflection of the Greek Myth equivalent Mr. Smith! Reader you won't regret purchasing this JF Smith work--in fact it's horribly underpriced. Pay attention as you read and don't skip over any detail. Every descriptive phrase clues you in to what's happening to poor, beleagured Percy. Smith's writing flows beautifully and entices your imagination to the point where you're craving for more at the end of everything Smith writes. I've already read your LATAKIA novel and loved that as well. Now I'm starting on your uber-novel FALLING OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH. Can't wait!

This was a beautiful short story. And I mean it; I came in expecting something no-so-amazing (I guess because I judged the book by its price), but I would actually pay money for more works like this. You're an amazing writer and your metaphors and imagery just added on to it.

That was a really good job. I'd love to see more of you around.
