Religion Lies

Hope was lost in the shade,

and the momentary passion would fade,

that night,

hatred spilled with all its might,

it was the tipping point,

the war had left the cities beaten and broken,

and not a word was spoken,

homes burned

as smoke filled the sky,

children huddled in masses,

much too afraid to cry,
