Olivia's Secret Wish

Rated 4.89/5 based on 9 reviews
For her ninth birthday Olivia is given a plump brown gerbil in a glass cage. He isn't exactly the pet she'd secretly longed for, but first Olivia must show how responsible she can be. Arriving home from school to find the cage left open, a trail of footprints crossing the table and the gerbil nowhere to be seen, Olivia fears her secret wish can never now come true.

A very enjoyable read. I don't think I'm giving away too much by saying, if only all pet shops had animals like this!

This is a beautiful story. I cried when I read it the first time. The writer’s extraordinary imagination transported me right back to my childhood, when in my head I used to live in a silver castle, wore a jewelled crown, rode on my horse Samson by day and flew on the magic rug by night... Thank you.

I really loved this book, even though I'm 26! I could really relate to Olivia because I used to wish for similar things when I was little.

If only this book would've been around when I was young - I know I would've loved it!

This is a great book! My nine-year old daughter and I read it together and she totally related to Olivia... only she wished the same things could happen to her! It's fun and interactive. Awesome!
