First let me begin this review with a confession... Layne is a good friend and fellow traveler and he asked me to write a review... He asked me because he knew how much I enjoyed reading his first novel...

That said.... I enjoyed every twist and turn that the story takes you on... A book should be filled with surprises, plot twists, dead ends, only to be revealed in other paragraphs or chapters, strong characters that you care about and are interested in their story... Layne's story.....

It's sexy as hell...! It's not the romantic, run of the mill sexy, but kinky and provocative.... It's also like a high octane John le Carré novel or a James Bond thriller..... It becomes a page burner... What a wonderful surprise...! Way to go Layne... You wrote a hell of a first novel...

Moral Turpitude is a blast! I had so much fun reading this book that I stayed up late into the night -" just one more chapter "- too many nights. It's well-written, it's sexy, it's plot wanders the Pacific Rim & then returns to urban, big business haunts. Descriptions of exotic travel destinations, sumptuous homes and lifestyle-forward communities are a big part of the fun. The non-traditional characters make the adventure/risk narrative much more engaging than in a romance or suspense tale, tho it has many elements of each. The writing is engaging, imaginative and flowing. It's just an excellent read, really.

I very literally could not put this book down, except to eat, relieve myself, recharge my Nook, and sleep a bit. A great page turner, full of intrigue, adventure, sex, and BDSM of both the consenting type and some real world, non-consenting violence. The author has a great imagination, and maybe some real world experience, that he puts into this story. Don't pass it up.
