About Angelique LaFontaine

My name is Angelique LaFontaine. I was born in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin and live in the country about an hour outside of Dallas, TX. I am employed as a Mechanical Engineer but spend much of my time painting and writing I have been building my work collection for the last 15 years and it includes paintings, sketches, poetry compilations, novels, digital short stories and much more.

I do not limit my writing to one specific genre but I tend to lean more toward fiction fantasy. I love the idea of not having boundaries when writing. If you can think it, in my story, it could happen. In 2008, I released my first poetry compilation. This collection was entitled Walking Before You Run. It is a collection of 75 poems that I've written over the years. In 2010 I released Sandstone and Mirrors: The Crossover. I have many more books and short stories that I am preparing to release.

Besides writing, I love to paint and sketch. I enjoy working with acrylic mainly but from time to time, work with other mediums. Currently my work is being displayed in the Little Elm Library in Little Elm TX. It has been rotated throughout different locations in the Dallas area. Please see my website at for any updates.

Hands down, a brilliant story by this author. She has demonstrated numerous different styles in her writing but, as an objective critism, I think that her strength is fantasy fiction. I was engrossed in this story and could not put it down, in fact, I finished it in a single afternoon. I am eagerly waiting for the next volume. Bravo on this one! Very good read!

Again, I found myself having to read several sentences and full paragraphs multiple times to try to find out what the author was trying to say. I noticed this book was a second edition so one would think the author would have corrected the majority of the grammatical and spelling errors. Maybe she will get closer after a few more editions. Even if she does get the errors corrected the book is still a snooze fest. I only made it through 7 chapters before I just couldn’t stop yawning with boredom. The story lacks palatable creativity and isn’t worth the time to read.

Really great book! It reminded me of a good SCI-FI book or movie!

Read this book a while ago and wanted to review it here. I have always been amused and interested in books that were similar to Walter Mitty. Walter Mitty is a James Thurber character that day dreams about an escape from a dull and boring domestic life. To me this is a female version of Walter Mitty. It is very good. It will take you on a fantasy trip that will capture your attention. I'm smiling thinking about it now.

So far the best book I've read by this author. I had a hard time putting this book down because it was such a good adventure. Hope to read more from this author!
