About Mark Kalina

I was born in Moscow, Russia, in 1972, moved to the United States in 1978, and mostly grew up in Texas and California.

My education was in history (mostly military history) and law.

As a day job, I'm the CEO of a small R&D company that develops advanced technology for power plants.

Science fiction and fantasy, in many forms, are a long-term hobby for me.

"Hegemony" is my second novel, but the first one I've seen fit to e-publish.

I currently live in California, with my wife and two children.

this book was a bit slow in a couple of places but worthwhile to stick with. i appriciate that people did the right thing because it was the right thing to do. that concept seems sadly lacking in our culture and is often reflected in literature. a good read.

Really good read, admittedly with some slight niggles of style that a professional editor would have fixed immediately.

A well built and convincing world, good characters and an interesting story. I eagerly await any prospective sequel

Great book in the spirit of most space operas. I found it hard to put down, and it's significantly better than some of the $5 ebooks I've purchased recently.
