Excellent book! Doesn't follow the set up that 90% of all historical romance novels do - making it fun and different to read. Great characters and a story that has twists and turns. I bought the next novel in this series straight away.

A really good book. Wonderful characters, great development, with enough funny moments and some action to keep it from becoming sappy. I loved it, a wonderful read.

Well done!

Let's start with the fact that unlike many Smashwords authors *sigh* this one actually DOES seem to have a command of English and few typos or giant grammar mistakes. Yeah, that should hardly get first billing, but so many others disappoint.

Now onto the romance. Very hot. Very sexy. Some of the most graphic love scenes I've read in a romance and yet done in such a perfectly delicate way that it was clearly romance and not porn. I abase myself at the altar of this writer's brilliance in such matters.

Then there's characterization and plot. Fantastic hero. Although it was obvious from page 1 that he was a teddy bear in rake's clothing, his evolution was logical and intelligent.

The heroine's evolution was also well done, taking her from grieving almost-widow to confused because she was loyal to her deceased beloved and yet entranced by his brother. And then her most lovely opening as a woman in full understanding of herself.

I am eminently jealous of this author, because I'd someday like to write a romance half as good.

Cannot wait to read the rest of the series.

**4.5 Stars**
Ms. Harmon has earned a new fan. Her proficiency with plot twists and turns, attention to detail down to the blade of grass and mortar block is stunning. An exciting tale and enjoyable ride.

Will certainly be reading more of her work!

I really enjoyed the book it was a great read. Patience and love go a long way in helping someone to mature, even when you have to bite your tongue. A ruined woman, a manipulating Duke and a wild immature brother makes an exciting book.

This was the first book I read by Danelle Harmon and I liked it. Gareth.. immature, adorable and fun and I charmed by his characters. Life with him will be fun, I know coz my dear hubby is like him. Always make me laugh when things got hard.

When I started reading this book, I'm afraid Juliet will not fall in love with Gareth. But seeing Gareth take responsibility and make her laugh, I saw affection and love grow between them.

The story is good and I want to know what happen to all DeMontforte brothers. At the epilogue, I'm quite shocked to learn that Charles is still alive. Move to next book in few minutes :-)

I love how Danelle gives their nickname.
Gareth - The Wild One
Charles - The Beloved One
Andrew - The Defiant One
and my fav character Lucien - The Wicked One

Try this book and let me know your thoughts.
