The first of a trilogy, MY GIDDY AUNT is a comedic tale of Julie Parker’s quest to raise money for tragic Polly Piper’s complex operation in Orlando. In this quest Julie gets involved with the local drugs baron, becomes a police informer and has a series of experiences which make police programmes look tame. Jump aboard to find out what Turkish people, kebabs, small horses, poodles, abseiling, caravans, suspicions of gender reassignment, sudden fame and many a thought of Nelson Mandela and Martina Navratilova, not to mention the food, and lots of it, have to do with it. While this is going on Julie’s mother, Kathy moves in giddy ‘Aunt’ Cilla, with unforeseen problems of the comedic kind. This is the quintessential British comedy, wonderfully politically incorrect, but with a big heart.
