About Robert Raun

Bob’s life is about a hope and a future. His passion is to write tales embracing the confluence of faith, family and governance. He was encouraged by his family to write Tales of the Clam Club, a fantasy adventure series, after years of nurturing their grandchildren as a story teller.

As a global traveler, Bob’s writing reflects the cultures of Europe, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, China, central Africa, and the divides within the United States. His experiences include being a decorated Vietnam veteran, a corporate government representative, an international marketing consultant, an entrepreneur, and a Congressional campaign manager. But these adventures would be mundane without a spiritual plumb line.

Bob witnessed the political discourse attempting to separate faith from life. This understanding began a journey promoting recognition of the bedrock of faith needed to support our family and national lives. Tales are a fictional form to tell that story.

A few of his life experiences include marrying his high school sweetheart, witnessing the bicentennial fireworks in the shadow of the Washington Monument, winning U of D’s senior class president (ran against Joe Biden), witnessing the birth of a Tea Party in Ravenna in 2010, sailing on the Indian Ocean, homecoming on Christmas Night to our two baby daughters, sharing Veteran’s Day at a grandchild’s school, fishing trip on a converted Russian gunboat in a huge reservoir in Kazakhstan before The Wall came down, listening to the praise of the African people as they celebrated life a few years after their holocaust, enjoying all of the grandchildren and their friends, and quietly assisting friends to realize their dreams and live in freedom.

Bob lives with his wife Eileen in northeastern Ohio, is an avid gardener and sports fan of their eight grandchildren.
