About D.I. Telbat

David I. Telbat is a Christian author who writes in many genres, but especially Christian action-adventure, espionage, and suspense. He wrote his first novel at age 14, and hasn't stopped since!

Telbat's Tablet, David's website/blog (http://ditelbat.com), offers FREE weekly Christian action, adventure, and suspense short stories, or serialized novels. On his site, he also shares weekly his author reflections on different subjects, his writing experiences, and occasional challenges to the Christian Church. You will find a list of publishing credits and awards onsite, as well, which includes print and digital publications, and anthologies.

D.I. Telbat has written a series of four covert, Christian suspense novels in The COIL Series, as well as standalone novels Sea Scribe, God's Colonel, and Jaguar Dusk. He has a free collection of shorts stories for download as well, called COIL Extractions.

Getting into trouble with the law as a young man became a turning point in David's life. The Lord used that experience to draw David into a personal relationship with Him. Re-focusing his life for Christ, David now seeks to honor God with his life and his writing.

Because of his interest in the Persecuted Church and missions, many of D.I. Telbat's stories are about persecuted Christians--their hardships, sacrifices, and rescues. Many of his novels include espionage and sometimes spiritual battles.

David studied writing in college, and worked in the newspaper field, but now he is doing what he loves: writing and ministry. When not busy with ministry, he focuses on writing novels, short stories, blog posts, and curriculum for prison ministries.

Though now living in California, he has kept his home office in the Northwest U.S. where his assistant, Dee, lives and helps with his writing and editing needs.

There is no redemption without sacrifice.

Dark Hearted was a great suspenseful read! After reading Dark Liaison last year, I was looking forward to the next installment in the COIL series, and Dark Hearted did not disappoint!

The story had a lot of action-packed moments and held my attention. I found the characters great and, while there were some sad moments, it did make the book more believable.

Overall, I really enjoyed Dark Hearted and look forward to reading the next COIL novel, Dark Rule. If you like good, clean, suspenseful reads, then I recommend Dark Hearted - although you might want to read book one first. :)

Dark Hearted, the second book in D.I. Telbat's COIL Series is just as fantastic as book one. I love the mystery and intrigue involved in this story.
We got to meet some new characters and revisit some from book one. The descriptions of people and places are just fantastic. I love how they describe and talk about the guns.
There were only a few things in this book that I didn’t like, but hate to mention them because this book is so very interesting and full of suspense that I want everyone to read it. I feel I must say it though. To me I didn’t think it was believable that the group was working on a very important time involving case, but just because of a delay in the plans they went off to another country to help out some Christians for a few days.
The only other thing I didn’t believe was that the COIL group let a reporter come along and help out the group. She could have been a spy or gotten them in serious trouble. Also she had some experience, but not enough to let her into the group. That is only my way of thinking.
All in all I love this book. Dark Hearted is full of all kinds of tension and dangers and keeps you reading and wishing for more. Another wonderful book to read and read again. Highly recommended.

This book was every bit as awesome as Dark Liaison. And I do mean AWESOME. My favorite genre of books and movies is thrillers and suspense. But, I rarely read books anymore because of the language and sexual content. The COIL books are not only non-stop action and suspense, but their characters are so beleivable and I grew to love each one of them. I can't wait for the next one and sure do hope a movie is forthcoming! I also love the author's real-life commitment to the mission field.

One of the reasons I do not like the action adventure thriller type movies of today is that it contains an excessive amount of unnecessary foul language, action so extreme that it becomes makes the story line unbelievable and naked women who add nothing to the movie. Books are so much better.
“Dark Hearted”, by D. I. Telbat, is what I would consider the perfect suspense book. Continuing the activities of COIL, a team of specialized agents trained to rescue Christian missionaries from persecution, this is book two of what looks to be a great Christian influenced series. A combination of Dog the Bounty Hunter and Mission Impossible the team put their lives on the line traveling all over the world while on their missions.
What makes a book great is the amount of involvement the reader has with the characters. With “Dark Hearted” I was captivated from the beginning compelled to continue reading.
A good book takes you where the characters are. As I read: I was jumping out of the plane with the team, riding in the car avoiding capture, passing off secret documents, I was in New York, I was in Paris and I was in America.
“Dark Hearted” is a fast paced book with adventure on every page so much better than a movie. I cannot imagine a person trying to read this book over a prolonged period of time. Plan to shut the television off and read “Dark Hearted” over the weekend.

I was given a complimentary eBook in exchange for an honest review.
