About Claire Ryan

Claire Ryan is an Irish author and web consultant, now living in Vancouver BC. She originally wanted to just write fantasy novels for a living, but was told from a very young age that she should do something 'practical'.

That turned into a degree in Geology, a postgrad in computers, and eventually a large dose of experience and technical skills in everything from data analysis to graphic design to marketing.

After hearing the stories of authors scammed by POD companies with nothing to show for it, she started the Raynfall Agency in April 2012 in the hope of developing a better way do publishing. Her first work, The Author's Marketing Handbook, is part of her overall plan to get the basic knowledge of online marketing into the hands of as many authors as possible.

I am a person almost incapable of IT logic. I have some, but not much. Having written my first book, I had two major problems. The first was to get it online and the second was to tell people about it. My lack of IT knowledge didn't help with the latter. I bought this book, and if I follow it through, I have no doubt that a lot of people will know about it - and possibly buy it as a result of knowing about it! The book is sharp, clear and witty. This book is a great source of information for self publishers. It contains real tips and explanations for people who don't understand what things like SEO mean.
The information here will help you get started on marketing with a purpose.
