I'm the author of 18 "traditionally published" novels. I'm a former medical social worker and psychotherapist, but I've been a full-time writer now for a long time. I live in North Carolina with my significant other and two crazy Shelties.
I want to make my older, out-of-print books available to my readers, so I'm launching one of my favorites, Secret Lives, as my e-book experiment. Enjoy!

A very enjoyable read--it kept me up half the night because I just had to find out what happened. With the instant attraction between Eden and Ben in the beginning, I got a bit suspicious that this was just going to be a light romance novel, but it turned out to be much more--nicely layered, honest and with well-developed characters.
I particularly liked the author's depiction of Kyle--he didn't come across as a perfect man, though close!--and the doubt that starts infesting Eden's (and the reader's) belief in Ben's innocence was brilliantly done. It all tied up very nicely in the end and left me with a satisfying feeling that everything had been explained.
I'll probably try more of her books, esp if they're under $5 :p

What an amazing book. So many layers, so much going on in it that I was captivated right from the start. A famous actress returning to her roots to research the life of her mother, a well know children's author. The mother's story is told from her point of view through her journals. Her aunt and uncle are there to support her, but there are some lies that stand between them and hurt their relationship.
A man who has been accused and convicted of molesting his daughter works for the uncle, and he maintains his innocence. As he and the actress come together to heal each other's wounds and broken hearts, the issues of trust and safety enter into their relationship more than they bargained for.
Chamberlain is a sensitive, gifted writer. This is a heartbreaking and heartwarming story. At times it brought tears to my eyes, and I know these characters will stay with me a long time.

A fantastic suspense gem. A can't-put-it-down story of a famous actress who returns home to research a bio-pic on her late mother, a well-loved children's author who suffered from agoraphobia. Meanwhile her Uncle, an archeologist, has hired a man with a past to dig at an archeological site very close to home.
This story has everything - mother issues, daughter issues, father-daughter issues, sibling issues, love, romance, lies, trust, betrayal. The characters are real - flawed and struggling. And the plot moves and twists as the characters react to various revelations.
The mother's story is revealed through a series of journals - her description of her disability from her own perspective is masterfully told. The story is not so much a mystery as the "secrets" can be guessed at long before they are fully exposed. The story's strength lies in the suspense and watching it all play out. So glad to have found this older title as a re-release on smashwords.
