Jack's friend,Carol, suggests that he write his story of finding a loophole and winning the lottery. He realizes his dream and publishes his first book "Pray To Win." Carol is intrigued with the chapter where our little three legged friend, Trinity, inspires Jamie who had given up on learning to walk again. Her idea in the use of small animals for therapy is widely successful and put into practice at The Foundling Hospital of New York. Soon other institutions are interested in implementing similar programs. Jack suggests she write a book about the experience and also outline a program that other institutions could follow.

Humans have held the cat up as a god, an icon, a good luck charm, a sacred object etc. But in his book, Mr. McAuley uses his cat as millions of us regular people use theirs: namely as a friend and companion as well as one of the family. Trinity's Lesson is a page-turner as the author writes in a unique style that I discovered in his first book, "Pray To Win." Although I was not around in the 1960s, I can feel the characters as they mingle with the people of Mr. McAuley's story. It is quite obvious that he was living in the 60s and his writing brings me back there to those easier times. As we all have problems of one kind or another, Trinity herself is so very special and has a unique gift (that I will not give away) that this story should be read by all. I look forward to Mr. McAuleys next book. (Fingers crossed!) 5 Big shiny stars!
