About Rodney Cimburke

I'm almost 40. I am married to the best graphic designer I know and we have three very odd and lovable children. I have always written, and I s'pose I always will. A few of my fave writers are: Cormac McCarthy, Hemingway, Junot Diaz, Gertrude Stein, London, Henry James, Dickens. I prefer literary writing - forms in which the language is just as important as the subject matter. I am currently studying Lit. and Creative Writing at the University of Oregon, and hope to be accepted into their prestigious MFA program for the latter. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Not overly good bad or original.

The basic plot line has been done many times before. The words and the story flow well.

The ending was unexpected, but it didn't make sense. Why did he find what he found? How is it possible? It just seemed wrong.

This short is only 6 pages long, but it was an enjoyable spooky little tale.

I can not say much about the story without giving it all away so I'll refer you back to the synopsis, and say it reads like a campfire story.

I think anyone who likes to listen to a scary campfire story would enjoy this.

I would tag this as spooky, short, aliens, science fiction.

Creepy, odd, fun. All the things I like in a good read. The middle seemed to sag a bit in some indefinable way... if I were writing this, I'd have been in a hurry to write that ending I like so much so maybe that explains it.

I'd also have driven myself crazy trying to edit and re-edit that middle to work out that indefinable something, so it may be all for the best if I had simply gone ahead and published it... so goes my theory on what the author has done here.

Having nitpicked quite a bit, I'm going to shut up and give this 5 stars.
