About BOHNITA ROYCHOUDHURY VIII

I was born in Kolkata, India on 30 May 1999 but spent my infant days in Santiniketan, soaking in the greenery and artistry of the Ashram .
At age three, I had to move with Mom due to her posting to Mumbai. I found Mumbai to be a buzzing, lively, culturally active city but missed my Dad who was in Kolkata for his business.
I came to Kolkata with Mom at age seven and the family was reunited.
I am a bookworm and have been caught reading storybooks even during lessons and lunch at school a few times.
I started writing fiction at age 9 but never got around to completing any of the stories except the school assignments. At this time, I also started writing and composing songs.I penned my first poem which was to be a gift to a pen friend in Germany. The poem ‘Delightful Monsoons’ was published in ‘Telekids’ (Telegraph, Kolkata) in August 2010 and was extremely well received by readers. I started writing several poems around this time. I have also scripted a few skits and plays for school productions and choreographed two of Tagore’s dance dramas in my locality. I am involved in community service , being associated with my grandmother’s NGO in Kolkata and have helped slum children put up ballets, plays and skits.
I am presently studyimg in class VIII in Candor International School,Bangalore, India.
I enjoy English literature, Drama, Dance, Art and
sculpture, Origami, swimming, athletics, Yoga and golf. I am learning Bharat Natyam, Rabindranritya, Salsa, Jive, Flamenco and the Spanish guitar and have performed solo on several occasions.
I love good movies and serials but most of all, books including poetry and plays. I enjoy reading all genres of fiction ranging from unabridged
Shakespeare to Meg Cabot and aspire to become a fiction writer.
