This was a thoroughly satisfying and well-balanced read. Both the stories of Abby and Rourke and that of Carrie and Will were absolutely wonderful (the side story of Violet felt almost too good to be true but was still fun)! It's rare to find such a well written, carefully built world and plot in a romance novel. I moved on to buy some of the author's work, she deserves it:).

Well written with the characters personalities and all their foibles remaining true throughout the book. This is one of the better offerings for historical romances with the perils being plausible and well thought out. The story unfolds with every page.
