A breath of fresh air for those of us pained by the sparkly-skinned turn vampire fic has taken the last few years. Interesting premise, engaging main character, well written. Entertaining read.

A tautly written story. While it doesn't break any new ground in the vampire mythos, it does instead choose to concentrate more on the characters, which is a big plus. Vianne Vanator is a conflicted and complex narrator, and is someone I'd like to get to know more of. Oh, and her little dog, too. He's pretty wicked.

Review by: Jennifer Fincher on July 07, 2012 :
Vianne, a twenty-something fresh from a prison stint served for several DUI's, thinks life can't get much worse than spending her nights working for a sleazy pawn shop owner. Turns out, it can. When a mysterious patron turns up at the shop, Vianne quickly learns more than she ever wanted about monsters, vampires, and her own history.

Suck It is not the typical vampire story. It is not filled with damsels in distress and glittering vampire skin. Suck It is, however, action-packed with a bad-ass heroine. Vianne is funny, brave, and poignantly realistic. Suck It is an addictive novella that will leave the reader begging for more.

This is a fun story with an original heroine who acquires a very unique "dog." (No, it's not a werewolf. Nothing so ordinary.) I really enjoyed this free ebook, and I will pay for a chance to read further adventures that follow these characters.
