Gerty, I enjoyed your story. I think your writing will help, will touch many people in wonderful ways. This is nitpicky, but I liked that you write in the first person, and that you write declarative sentences in the active voice. Clearly, you know what you're talking about. People believe you. You're brave with a lot to offer, so keep writing, please.Thank you so much for the kind review you wrote for one of my stories.Good luck to you, and God bless.

Review by: KaraSkinner on June 17, 2017 :
Anyone who has read enough romances knows there there are many common plot points. Melody's Passion shows them very accurately. And it is hilarious. From the hate to love relationship to the whirlwind romance to getting pregnant. The only place that doesn't show a cliche correctly is when they are waiting for Will's uncle to pick them up when their moving truck breaks down.

She says, “I was wondering if we could make love quick?” He says, “Well we could, but we would have to have more time for that sweetheart. I don’t do quickies. . Besides, my uncle will show up before you know it?”

In most romances, they totally would have had a quickie right then and there. But aside from this silliness, this book makes fun of a lot of romance novel cliches in a hilarious way.

The only frustrating thing about this was the really bad grammar. This story is riddled with spelling mistakes, punctuation errors, and formatting issues. Originally I thought it was part of the parody, making fun of a lot of the poorly edited romance novels there are on the market. After reading another book by the same author, I realized it wasn't part of the parody and is most likely related to her disability, which she talks about in one of her other books.

Gerty So needs a proofreader, though. Melody's Passion was a witty parody, and shows that the author is smart and has a good grasp on satirical writing and could possibly become a bestselling writer at some point. But to do that, her work needs to be more readable than it is. So I have to knock a star off for grammar. But Melody's Passion is still a really funny parody that is worth reading.

Review by: TFS21plus on Nov. 05, 2012 :

WoW! What a story!

It reads like an Adult fable like David Lynch (the film-maker) might dream up.

I never knew what was going to happen next. Very quirky. You have a unique way of telling a story that's for sure!

I really enjoyed it!

Some time back I tried to read this story only to give up and left a poor review. I have since discovered that the author has a disability. I removed the poor review and made the effort to finish reading the story. It is still a struggle and I suggest that the author learn to use some punctuation especially quotation marks as they will make it easier on the reader. I wish the author the best of luck. Ernie
