This is an outstanding novelette, even though I'm not all that sure what it's about. I'm pretty dumb that way, just stupid enough to write idiot books like, "Fast Break Basketball For Kids." So, I found this book when I was looking for a basketball story, and it fit the bill well. It had "horse," kind of like "out's" which can be played with, or without the apostrophe. This is a heavy book, by a terrific writer. Recommended.

It was a good story, but given the longing of the narrator to spend time with his brother, it was more about family than basketball.
