My Husband Made Me Do It! A Pilgrim With Plastic On The Camino de Santiago

Rated 5.00/5 based on 3 reviews
Fat, 59, fortified daily by red wine and challenged by my husband, I start a mildly epic adventure. This book is part autobiography, part travel guide, an honest but tongue in cheek record of my Camino. It lists distances, places to stay and to avoid, what to take, degree of difficulty and ultimately proves anybody can do it.
I want to inspire you to take the first step on your own adventure.

About Margaret Wilson

Riveting raconteur, sophisticated wickedly wonderful woman! That's not me. I'm almost opposite extremes: short attention span but attention to detail. I love food and wine and expect a trip to the gym to be a quick fix resulting in weight loss. In December 2009 I won first prize for the first chapter of The Great Gold Coast Novel - a Tale of One City published in the Bulletin. The pen I won will come in handy if I'm asked for an autograph! I currently live with my husband in Murwillumbah, NSW. Been overlanding around South America for 9 months, backpacking in Cuba -another book coming up...

Epic and inspiring. I might even be tempted to be a pilgrim myself. Humorous and sometimes a little sad, a great read though. I thoroughly recommend it.

Well, that was a long walk, wasn't it? I managed to condense it a bit by reading three days' walk every night before going to sleep in the comfort of my own bed with en-suite. But I'm glad Margret did it so now I don't have to. Let's just hope that her husband doesn't expect her to become his Sherpa for an assault on Everest, but just in case, I assume that she is keeping up with that essential red wine training. The book is a must-read for anyone contemplating this journey.

Pilgrims beware! Take off your hiking boots, put your feet up, pour a (large) glass of good red and enjoy a humorous, informative, and at times, irreverent, journey of Margaret Wilson's travels on the Camino de Santiago.
