About Doranna Durgin

Doranna's quirkiness of spirit has led to an eclectic publishing journey since that her first award-winning novel, spanning genres over nearly 50 novels to include mystery, SF/F, action-romance, paranormal, franchise, and a slew of essays and short stories.

Beyond that, mostly she still prefers to hang around outside her New Mexico mountain home with the animals, riding dressage on her Lipizzan and training for performance sports with the dogs. She doesn't believe so much in mastering the beast within, but in channeling its power. For good or bad has yet to be decided...

Along with the occasional original, these Smashwords editions are author presentations of favorites once found on bookstore shelves.

I think this was the first Doranna Durgin book I ever read and I got the title from a list of 'best Fantasy' ever from a forum I came across.

I loved this story. The dogs/dog behaviour and human/dog interactions were realistic and engaging. The characters were well drawn and the mystery and magic were believable. The development of the story was really well paced. All in all, a great read.

Really enjoyed this book. It was good entertainment. Well developed central character; realistic portrayal of dogs and the grooming business. Ending was maybe a little too tidy - but it is good not be left hanging.

This is the first Doranna Durgin book I have read - I will be buying others.

A wonderful fantasy adventure about true love, sacrifice and bonding with dogs, as well as the nature of good and evil and its impact on how we live our lives. Brenna's dogs Druid and Sunny will definitely tug at your heart strings.
